DMU’s program is hands-on, meaning you’ll learn by doing. Workshops involve working together, giving and receiving feedback, drafting, revising, and thinking critically about your work. The curriculum includes industry-focused skills to help you become a confident writer who can professionally promote, present, and publish your work.

- DMU encourages you to join local writing networks, take part in spoken word events, and share and publish your work through book fairs and festivals, including DMU's annual States of Independence book festival.
