Fashion Textile Design at DMU teaches you the latest textile techniques and creative skills, preparing you for success in the fashion industry. In this course, you'll develop your artistic vision, learn new techniques, and shape your creative style for fashion-forward, luxury, and innovative designs. You’ll create a portfolio that highlights your skills and design style, while also addressing social and environmental challenges in today’s global fashion world.
DMU accept applicants from different backgrounds:
- Art and Design Foundation, or - 112 points from at least 2 A-levels, or - BTEC Extended Diploma with DMM, or - International Baccalaureate with 26+ points, or - T Levels with Merit Plus, five GCSEs in grades 9-4, including English Language or Literature at grade 4 or higher.
For Access courses, you need 30 Level 3 credits at Merit and GCSE English (Language or Literature) at grade 4 or higher. Typically, students should have taken a break from full-time education before starting an Access course. DMU also accept the BTEC First Diploma plus two GCSEs, including English Language or Literature at grade 4 or above.
English Language Requirements
If English is not your first language, you need an IELTS score of 6.0 overall, with at least 5.5 in each part, when you start the course.
Students admitted to undergraduate study at DMU are automatically awarded an international scholarship of £1,500 for their first year of study. Students commencing Postgraduate Taught study (but not the Global MBA) at DMU are automatically awarded an international scholarship for their first year of study up to £2,000. Students admitted into the Global MBA at DMU are automatically awarded an international scholarship of £2,500.
