DMU’s History program is broad, globally focused, and innovative. It mainly looks at modern and contemporary history and teaches you valuable research and analytical skills, helping you learn how to understand, communicate, and think critically about complex information.


The course reflects the global world we live in and covers British, South Asian, European, African, and North and South American history. It explores important topics like colonialism, decolonization, immigration, ethnic minorities, gender, photography, and the history of sports and leisure.


As you progress, you’ll dive deeper into topics that interest you, while being guided by passionate teachers who are experts in their fields. They will create a lively learning environment with various teaching and assessment methods.


In addition to history, you will also study Mandarin at either beginner or post-beginner levels, developing your language skills and understanding of China’s culture, politics, history, and art.
