DMU’s Medical Science program focuses on putting students’ interests and learning experiences first, using Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles and inclusive teaching methods. DMU’s experienced staff provide excellent support and teach based on the latest scientific and clinical research.
In the first year, students gain basic knowledge and practical skills in chemistry, biochemistry, anatomy, physiology, microbiology, and professional skills. In the second year, they build on this knowledge by studying disease and healthcare techniques, and they learn about management principles relevant to many careers.
In the third year, students carry out an independent research project, which can be in the lab, based on literature, or clinical. They write a scientific article and present their work as a public poster. This requires good time management, organization, research skills, strong writing, critical evaluation of scientific articles, and problem-solving abilities.
